Muslim Brotherhood to Negotiate with Egyptian Vice President

Representatives from the Muslim Brotherhood, Egypt's largest organized opposition group, are scheduled  a meeting with Omar Suleiman, the country's vice president, on Sunday,

The Brotherhood had originally said it would not enter talks until Hosni Mubarak, Egypt's leader for more than 30 years, quit as president. However, the group has now stated that it will hold talks with Suleiman in order to press its "legitimate and just demands."

These would be the first known discussions between the government and the Brotherhood, which is officially banned but tolerated in Egypt, suggesting the conservative group could be allowed an open political role in the post-Mubarak era.
