Environment | February 4, 2011, Friday // 08:02| viewsUnusually low temperatures in recent days resulted in an unusual freeze-over of the Black Sea at the Romanian coast.
The ice sheet spans some 50 meters from the shore near major Romanian Black Sea city of Constanta.
Seas freeze over at considerably low temperatures. In recent days the highs in the region were around -7 degrees Celsius, while lows reached about -20 C.
Last year Romanians also witnessed sea ice. Weather forecasters estimate that cold will stay for two more days, after which warming is expected.
