According to unofficial data, announced by the United Nation Tuesday, over 300 have died and over 3 000 have been injured in the civil unrest shaking Egypt for eight days now.

UN appealed to Egypt's authorities to refrain from using force pointing out the Tuesday rally could become a crucial turning point in the history of the country and its transition to democracy.

Several hundreds of thousands of demonstrators are reported to have gathered at the central "Tahrir" square in the capital Cairo. Meanwhile, the army had blocked roads leading to Cairo and to the city of Alexandria in an attempt to stop people from coming together at the so-called Million March, announced earlier. France Press, cited by the Bulgarian National Radio, further reports the metro line connecting downtown Cairo with the suburbs is closed.

In a televised statement, Turkish Prime Minister, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, asked Egyptian President, Hosni Mubarak, to hear and fulfill the wish of his people for liberty, adding the solution for political problems belongs to the election polls.
