The Evrika Foundaton and Musala Soft, the largest Bulgarian software developer, presented Wednesday the annual "Evrika" (i.e. "Eureka") awards for young scientists for 2010.

The Evrika Awards were granted in four categories: "Achievements in Science", "Young Inventor", "Young Manager", and "Young Farmer."

Dr. Razvigor Darlenski received the 2010 award for "Achievements in Science" for his desertation on clinical and experimental tests on the role of the epidermal barrier in skin irritation and disorders.

Petar Lozanov grabbed the "Young Inventor" of 2010 prize for his inventions "Method and Device for Rectification of Reduced Pressure" registered with a patent as a "Device for Stirring and Circulation of Heterogeneous Liquids."

Elena Marinova, President and a partner in the largest Bulgarian software developer Musala Soft, who handles the company's strategy and IT market positioning, received the "Young Manager of 2010" Award.

Dimitar Nikolov, who manages two companies – Agro Business Group 2003 and Nilkkom Bulgaria – got the prize for "Young Farmer of 2010".

The awards were handed by Bulgaria's EU Funds Minister Tomislav Donchev.

"We need to convince the society that whoever works, will get good results, and especially the young talent that has remained in the country. We don't suffer from a lack of money but from a lack of experience, good ideas, and good projects," Donchev declared.

The Evrika awards are aimed at promoting good practices in science, inventions, management, and agriculture. The only condition for the prize nominees is that they must be under 35 years of age.

They are nominated by companies, organizations, and universities, and are selected by a specialized jury.
