Bulgaria's Sofia Airport Beats 3 Million Passengers Mark

Bulgaria's Sofia International Airport has registered 3 296 936 passengers in 2010, which is an all time record.

The only previous year which saw an over 3 million passengers traffic was 2008. 2010 has registered a 5.2% passenger increase year on year and a 2% increase in comparison with 2008. The year on year increase has been most notable in the international flights - 6% more than 2009.

The Sofia Airport, which is the largest in Bulgaria, has carried out flights to 51 destinations in 2010 and has operated with 26 air carriers, 6 of which have been low cost.

A total of 47 061 flights have departured and arrived at the Sofia Airport during the previous year.
