Bulgarian Developer Unveils New Optical Character Recognition Application

SmartSoft, a Varna-based Bulgarian developer, has announced the launch of its new optical character recognition software called SmartOCR.

In a company statement, SmartSoft has pointed out that SmartOCR, a software application which delivers SmartSoft's optical character recognition technology, enables users to turn scanned paper documents and screenshots into fully editable and searchable digital files.

The companies says that the patent-pending SmartOCR technology delivers accuracy rates of over 99.8% and features intelligent layout recreation capabilities, and that it allows users to perform conversion with minimum training.

"We have been working on improving our optical character recognition technology to provide our customers with next-generation software of the highest standards. SmartOCR is the result of years of hard work. As with other SmartSoft applications, SmartOCR is very simple to use and produces excellent results," said Nedelcho Georgiev, SmartSoft founder and CEO.

The statement of the Varna-based company says its products have been used in more than 150, and that its clients include Adobe, IBM, Microsoft, Motorola, Inc., J.P. Morgan, Fedex Express Corp, Honda Motor Co, General Motors, among others.
