China Eyes Participation in Bulgarian Energy Projects

China National Electric Equipment Corporation (CNEEC) is interested in participation in projects in the Bulgarian energy sector, the company representatives have announced.

The CNEEC representatives met Monday with Bulgaria's Finance Minister Simeon Djankov and Energy Minister Traicho Traikov at the Council of Ministers in Sofia.

A main subject of the talks were the opportunities of participation of CNEEC in large and smaller energy projects in Bulgaria.

The Chinese specialists have acknowledged the solid experience of Bulgaria in the nuclear energy sector, as well as the potential for development of the sector that the country provides.

Djankov and Traikov also pointed out the interest of the Bulgarian government in attracting more Chinese investors to the country.

The opportunities for cooperation in the energy sector and CNEEC's range of intentions will be further discussed by experts in the field.
