The Sofia airport is continuing to experience delays and cancelations Monday, caused by dense fog in the capital, the airport press center announced.

In addition to the early morning cancelations and after redirecting flights to Varna and Plovdiv, the airport was forced to cancel flights of the Polish carrier "LOT" to and from Warsaw and the Bulgaria Air flight from Burgas.

Visibility at the airport Monday afternoon remains low, keeping all scheduled departing flights on standby.

The "Easy Jet" flight from Manchester has been redirected to Thessaloniki while those of "Lufthansa" from Munich and Frankfurt will land in Belgrade.

Flights of "Bulgaria Air" and "Alitalia" from Rome were sent to Plovdiv along with the "British Airways" and "American Airlines" flights from London.

The fog has further delayed the arrival of an official delegation from Estonia, led by the country's Interior Minister.
