Bulgarian Wholesale Prices Went Down First Week of 2011

The index of wholesale prices in Bulgaria went down from 1.825 to 1.811 points in the first week of 2011, the Bulgarian News Agency informed.

The data comes from the State Commission for Commodity Exchanges and Market Places.

In the first week of 2011, there was a decrease in the prices of cooking oil, yellow cheese (kashkaval), cheese, greenhouse tomatoes and cucumbers, cabbage, garlic and lemons.

However, the prices of sugar, potatoes, beans and frankfurters, which were produced under the Bulgarian State Standard for meat, went up.

In the last week of 2010, the index of wholesale prices in Bulgaria reached its highest level since the beginning of the year. The index went up from 1.784 to 1.825, compared to 1.704 in the end of 2009.
