The Members of the Bulgarian Parliament solved Wednesday the case with Bozhidar Dimitrov, the country's Minister without Portfolio for Bulgarians Abroad, who resigned from the post, but decided not to return to the Parliament.

The MPs passed a text in the new Election Bill postulating that when the term of one of their colleagues, elected as a majority candidate, is terminated before its official end, his spot would be taken by the next person on the ballot.

The text eliminates the need to hold an unprecedented partial vote in the Black Sea city of Burgas to elect a Member of the Parliament replacing Dimitrov, who said he would return to his pre-election post as Director of the National History Museum.

The opposition Bulgarian Socialist Party opposed the move, saying the majority vote has been replaced by a party one, but the MPs still passed the amendment.
