Lebanon's President Michel Suleiman has recognized Bulgaria's policy in the Middle East and has expressed his hope that Sofia will contribute in the peace talks between Israel and Palestine.

"We are pleased with Bulgaria improving its relations with the Middle Easst, especially with Lebanon," Suleimani has stated.

A high-level Bulgarian delegation, headed by Prime Minister Boyko Borisov, is currently on a visit to Lebanon. Besides meeting the Lebanese President, Borisov has had talks with Chair of the National Assembly Nabih Berri, and members of the Bulgarian community in Beirut.

"Several generations of Lebanese citizens have lived and developed their business in Bulgaria, which is a strong evidence about the friendship between our two nations," the Bulgarian Prime Minister stated.

The Bulgarian Prime Minister has expressed his desire for an increase in the mutual turnover of goods between Bulgaria and Lebanon.

"Bulgaria does practically not import any medicines in Lebanon, because the Lebanese Healthcare Ministry does not recognize the Bulgarian currency," Borisov has pointed out dring his meeting with Nabih Berri.
