Bulgaria's best female wrestler Stanka Zlateva has been declared Best Player on the Balkans for the year 2010 after collecting thirty nine points in the poll of the Bulgarian News Agency.

In the ranking Zlateva managed to get ahead of Serbia's top tennis player Novak Djokovic, who came in second, and basketball player Hedo Turkoglu of Turkey.

This is the first time that the prominent wrestler gains this recognition, but it comes just a month after she was declared Best Female Wrestler of the year 2010 by the International Federation of Associated Wrestling Styles (FILA) for the fourth time.

In 2010 Stanka Zlateva won the European Cup for the fifth time and grabbed the gold world medal for the fourth time.

Zlateva won a world title for Bulgaria at the World Wrestling Championship in Moscow in September this year. In the 72-kg category final, Zlateva beat 2:0 Canada's Oheneva Akufto after being victorious in the previous rounds of the contest.

Zlateva, who has a silver medal from the 2008 Beijing Olympics, thus won her fourth world wresting title.
