Interior Minister Disproves Bulgarians Kidnapping in Turkey

The exchange of information between Bulgarian and Turkish authorities has revealed that there is no evidence two Bulgarians have been kidnapped in Istanbul.

The news was reported by Interior Minister, Tsvetan Tsvetanov, Sunday, saying one of the people involved is Bulgarian citizen, Krasen Kanchev, who had returned to the country late Friday night.

Bulgarian media informer earlier Sunday the police in Istanbul had freed two Bulgarian nationals, who have been kidnapped by a group of Turks for ransom.

Tsvetanov said Bulgarian and Turkish authorities are working on finding out who and why had interest in insinuating there has been a kidnapping.
