Bulgarian born U.S. swimmer Mike Alexandrov

Bulgarian born U.S. Olympic swimmer Mihail 'Mike' Alexandrov finished fourth with a time of 57.42 in the men's final of the 100m breaststroke at the World Short Course Championships in Dubai 2010.

The result can be considered a disappointment, as Alexandrov was favored to win the final. The event was won by Cameron Van Der Burgh from the Republic of South Africa, who finished for 56.80, followed by Fabio Scozzoli (Italy) and Felipe Silva (Brazil).

Mike Alexandrov swam for Bulgaria in the 2004 Olympics before becoming a U.S. citizen in 2006. He was allowed to compete for Bulgaria in the 2008 Olympics before he sat out of competition for a year to be eligible for the US team. He is the holder of the U.S. short course breaststroke national record.

Mihail's new goal is a third consecutive Olympics at London in 2012 this time representing the United States.
