MasterCard Site Hacked over WikiLeaks Ban

MasterCard's internet sites have been down and unavailable following an alleged hacker attack after the company banned transactions to WikiLeaks.

A veritable internet war is now unfolding around WikiLeaks shortly after mastermind Julian Assange announced WikiLeaks will divulge information on key financial institutions.

As it appears, now MasterCard's website has suffered a successful denial-of-service attack.

A number of the latter announced they would be blocking the transfer of funds to Assange and his organization, which depends largely on the transfer of donations.

Tuesday Assange was arrested in London on a European Arrest Warrant and might face two counts of sexual assault and one of rape in Sweden.

Supporters have protested the charges as politically motivated, after WikiLeaks leaked a string of highly controversial and revealing documents by world diplomatic services and security agencies, predominately ones from the USA.
