Bulgaria's rightist Blue Coalition will not endorse a ruling centrist GERB candidate in the presidential elections 2011 and will instead have its own nomination.

This was announced by leader of the Bulgarian rightist SDS party and co-leader of the Blue Coalition Martin Dimitrrov on Monday. He did not mention the name of the potential candidate, but was positive that he or she will "be better than GERB's".

"We will give the voter the opportunity to choose between a, let us say, "centrist" GERB candidate and a Blue Coalition rightist one," he said.

Martin Dimitrov spoke critically on the government's recent actions.

"The planned nationalization of early retirement accounts from private pension funds is something unseen in the last 20 years. GERB is acting like a leftist party, with its leader eulogizing the former communist dictator Tododr Zhivkov," Dimitrov stated, referring to a recent controversial plan for the nationalization of employee's early retirement personal accounts and an interview in which PM Boyko Borisov said good words about Zhivkov.

The Blue Coalition is practically still not in opposition, but it leaders have grown increasingly critical towards the current Bulgarian GERB government.
