Bulgaria's Unit for Combating Organized Crime (GDBOP) have busted yet another crime group dealing with the illegal online distribution of fake luxury goods.

The channel is located in Turkey, sending to EU countries contraband fake labels, which were then sold on the internet and sent to customers through courier services.

Bulgaria's Interior Ministry informs damages to the State treasury amount to BGN half M.

The raid took place in the cities of Sofia, Targoviste, Varna and Montana. The probe lasted several months.

The ringleader is a 35-year-old man from Targovishte selling designer fashion with fake labels online.

Police seized from Varna 300 pieces of luxury clothing and a laptop; a computer, a router, and a large number of invoices along with BGN 10 000 were confiscated in Targovishte; 10 000 bottles of fake designer perfumes were taken in Montana.

Designer fashion (400 pieces) was seized in Sofia along with computers and invoices.
Pre-trial proceedings have been initiated. The members of the group face up to 5 years of jail time.
