Bulgaria's top male tennis player, Grigor Dimitrov, was eliminated in the semifinals of the EUR 106,500 ATP Challenger in Helsinki, Finland.

In his last match for the year, Dimitrov was defeated by 6-7(5), 6-0, 1-6 by the Richard Berankis from Lithuania, who currently ranks 119th.

However, the Bulgarian tennis star gained 45 ranking points and EUR 5,375 from the ATP Challenger in Helsinki.

The 19-year-old Dimitrov is expected to rank 106th when the ATP ranking is announced next week. He still has a chance to enter directly the main draw of Australian Open in January 2011.

If he had managed to defeat the 20-year-old Lithuanian, he would have entered the Top 100.

Dimitrov was recently announced 2010 Best Male Prospect by the UK multi-sports website Sportinglife.com.
