Bulgaria's Prime Minister, Boyko Borisov, is not afraid the Bulgarian nation will become extinct over its resilience and survival skills.

Borisov made the stement Tuesday on the heels of a research published by Center for Demographic Policy in Sofia, alarming by 2050, ethnic Bulgarians will become a minority in their own country.

On Monday, Prof. Petar Ivanov from the Center, presented projections ethnic Bulgarians might decline to 800 000 in 2050. At the same time, there will be 3.5 million Roma and 1.2 million ethnic Turks in the country.

The PM declared he is not at all worried because Bulgarians are successful all across the globe; many of them are now returning home and as a whole they are used to and know how to self-preserve and persevere.

Borisov attended Tuesday the opening of a new school in the village of Busmantsi, near Sofia.

The PM further gave high marks for the work of the Sofia Mayor, Yordanka Fandakova, saying she deserved an "A" for making the "woman's touch" felt in Sofia just in the course of one year.
