Bulgaria to Provide 'Small' Financing for NATO Defense Shield

Bulgaria will finance the joint NATO missile defense shield in Europe, Defense Minister, Anyu Angelov told the Bulgarian National Radio, BNR.

Angelov spoke in the aftermath of the historic NATO Summit, held Friday and Saturday in Lisbon, saying the financing will be small.

The Minister also confirmed there is a possibility none of elements of the shield would be located on Bulgarian territory, but the country will certainly take part at least in what he called the "bottom level" of the shield.

Angelov further informed he will appoint a new Head of the Military Intelligence no later than 10 days from now, but declined to offer a name, only adding the appointment could be just temporary.
