Bulgaria Becomes Stage of Coca-Cola Christmas Ad

Bulgarian actor Ivan Petrushinov is Santa Claus in the new Coca-Cola Christmas commercial.

For the first time the popular Christmas commercial of Coca-Cola has been shot in Bulgaria with an entirely Bulgarian cast, the company has announced.

The commercial, called "Snow Globe," will be aired in more than 90 countries.

The shoots have been taking place at the Bulgarian film production studio Boyana, at the Boris' Garden and at the house of the Bulgarian TV host Natalia Simeonova, by an international crew of 30 people.

Bulgarian actor Ivan Petrushinov plays the role of Santa Claus. Other popular faces in the commercial are weather girl Desi Banova, TV host Dido Machev and other Bulgarian actors and models.

The music is performed by American Grammy Award-winning rock band Train. The song for the Bulgarian ad will feature Bulgarian Music Idol star Nona Karaivanova.

Petrushinov, as Santa Claus, will also participate in Train's video to the song, which will be aired on music televisions in December.
