A 20-km line of trucks has formed again at Capitan Andreevo on the Turkish-Bulgarian border Monday, blamed once more on the slow work of the Bulgarian Customs. File hoto

A 20-kilometers-long truck line has formed again Monday at the Capitan Andreevo – Kapakule cross border point between Bulgaria and Turkey.

The line has been growing since Sunday with over 600 trucks reported waiting on the road between Edirne and Kapakule. The trucks are waiting on the Turkish side over the lack of enough space.

The other cross border point at Lessovo is also experiencing heavy traffic and delays.

Turkish media report the line is again the result of the sluggish work of the Bulgarian Customs at the Capitan Andreevo border crossing point. Another reason for the jam is the fact many Turkish drivers left late Sunday before the Bayram holiday.

Huge lines at the border have been reported several times in October due to the installing on the Bulgarian side of the new system for control of cargo vehicles over Schengen requirements.
