The first show of British masters of melancholic rock Anathema in Bulgaria has been moved to the glorious Bulgaria Concert Hall in downtown Sofia which is usually reserved for classical concerts.

Bulgaria Hall is home to the Sofia Philharmonic Orchestra, Bulgaria's most prestigious, and has to date not hosted any major rock performances.

The grand setting and the great accoustics promise a great experience at the Anathema show, which is scheduled for Saturday, November 20.

It was first set to run in the Blue Box club, a regular venue for rock concerts, but "unexpected technical difficulties" caused the venue change, according to organizers from Radio Tangra.

Anathema are touring to promote their latest album "We're Here Because We're Here" (2010), a new slate of experimentation in despondent atmospherics, produced by UK progressive rock icon Steven Wilson.

Liverpool-founded Anathema started out in the early 90s as a doom metal band with "Serenades" (1993) and "The Silent Enigma" (1995), but soon drifted to more experimental waters and a progressive rock sound with albums such as "Alternative 4" (1998) and "Judgement" (1999).

Their taste for sparse atmospherics and delicate gloom is best showcased in their latest studio offerings "A Natural Disaster" (2003) and "We're Here Because We're Here" (2010).
