Bulgarian Foreign Minister Nikolay Mladenov met and talked with Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Vladimir Titov.

Titov is participating in Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin's delegation in his visit to the Bulgarian capital Sofia. He is a former Russian Ambassador in Bulgaria (1999-2004).

Bulgaria strives to be equal in its political dialogue with Russia, but also to establish new opportunities for itself on the Russian market, according to Bulgarian Minister Mladenov,

Titov and Mladenov both emphasized the importance of regional collaboration in the Balkan and the Black Sea regions

The Ministers also had a detailed discussion on the upcoming NATO-Russia Council Summit, which is to take place in Lisbon

The top item on the November agenda is a new long-term strategy for the alliance, which has been in a deadlock with Russia over military and security cooperation over the last 20 months.
