Two bomb threats were received by the Sofia City Hall Tuesday at 1:30 pm, interrupting several meetings inside.

The threats were placed for the first time through the 166 emergency hotline, not through the operators on duty at the municipal building.

Two different male voices made the calls through Bulphon telephones, according to the police.

The building in downtown Sofia has been evacuated. The rules ban anyone, except authorities, from the premises for 24 hours.

The police are conducting a thorough search.

The news comes on the heels of reports that a Greek special task force has detonated a suspicious package mailed to the Bulgarian Embassy in Athens.
