Bulgarian Juror Charged with Child Pornography

The Sofia City Prosecutor's Office has pressed official charges against Petar Georgiev, detained Friday during a special police operation codenamed "Pedophiles."

Georgiev is charged for distributing materials with pornography content involving minors. He is held in jail for 72 hours before facing a judge.

Georgiev's case is even more important because he is a juror in the long-running trial against Bulgaria's alleged top crime boss Zlatomir Ivanov aka Baretata (The Barret). His arrest, most likely, will turn into grounds to start Baretata's case all over again.

5 individuals were arrested Friday in Sofia in a joint operation between the German and the Bulgarian units against organized crime aiming at preventing the online distribution of child pornography.
