18 Football Fans Arrested, Police Hurt in Sofia Clashes

Eighteen football fans have been arrested in the Bulgarian capital during clashes with the police after CSKA Sofia suffered a 2-0 defeat at home by Rapid Vienna in the Europa League on Thursday.
"Police have been hurt and two police cars damaged," police director Valentin Yordanov announced.
The Bulgarian news agency BTA reported that some fans had thrown projectiles at match officials, broke shop and car windows outside the stadium.
Rapid Wien got their first points in the away match at CSKA Sofia in Bulgaria. The Austrians scored the opener through Dutchman Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink in the 28th minute and Steffen Hofmann added another four minutes later.
Porto lead Group L with nine points, three points more than Besiktas. Rapid Wien are in third place with three points and CSKA, without points, remain at the bottom.
