There is a major US investor, interested in becoming involved in activities related to the processing of used nuclear fuel in Bulgaria, American Ambassador, James Warlick, says.

Warlick spoke for Bulgarian media Tuesday, addressing energy sector matters.

The issue with the used nuclear fuel is major for Bulgaria because it is important to not only produce nuclear power, but to have a clear idea what to do with the said fuel, according to the Ambassador.

Warlick pointed out his country has the most advanced technology to treat used nuclear fuel and American companies would gladly compete with other international business in the sector.

The Ambassador voiced support for the cabinet's effort to diversify natural gas supply to Bulgaria, adding agreements with Greece and Turkey to build pipelines are of prime significance.
