Bulgaria's men's team lost 2:3 to Cuba in the quarter final of the World Volleyball Championship in Italy.

The last match in Pool Q of the tournament was played in Florence Wednesday night.

The Bulgarians took the first game 25:22, lost the second 23:25, won the third 28:26, then again lost 28:30.

The Cubans, however, scored a convicing win in the tie-break 15:11.

Thus, Bulgaria barely missed the chance to make it to the top four teams. The Cubans will be playing Serbia in the semi-final; the other semi-final is between Italy and Brazil.

Bulgaria will be playing for the spots between 5 and 8.
