Bulgaria's Prime Minister Boyko Borisov has met with top EU and world politicians at the 65th session of the UN General Assembly and the UN Millenium Development Goals summit.

On Monday, Borisov met in New York with European Commission President Jose Manuel Barroso and EU High Representative for foreign and security policy Catherine Ashton, announced the press service of the Bulgarian government.

He also had a meeting with World Bank President Robert Zoellick, who himself visited Bulgaria in August giving much praise to the Borisov government, and with the Bulgarian Director-General of UNESCO, Irina Bokova.

The Bulgarian Prime Minister is expected to meet with UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon later on Monday.

The Bulgarian state delegation led by Borisov participated in the ceremony for the opening of the UN summit meeting on the Millenium Development Goals ten years after the goals were adopted by the global organization and five years before the deadline for their completion.

During the forum, Borisov will present the Bulgarian position on the global development issues.
