Bulgaria's rightist Blue Coalition has demanded from the Health Minister to dismiss the executive head of the Agency for Transplantation over illegal export of organs.

A check of the Health Ministry inspectorates on the Agency for Transplantation has showed that in 2009 and 2010, organs have been exported out of the country without permission from the Health Minister.

A left and right lung, and a liver have been exported without permission from the Health Ministry, or contract with Eurotransplant that received the organs, or contracts with the hospitals that have provided them.

The Blue Coalition has asked the Health Minister, Anna-Maria Borisova, to dismiss immediately Teodora Dzhaleva, the executive head of the Agency for Transplantation, because of the serious violations.

Dzhalova has been appointed by the former Health Minister Bozhidar Nanev, who was fired by the Bulgarian PM Boyko Borisov after prosecutors launched a probe into suspected irregularities in flu vaccines purchases he had authorized.

The report of the inspectorate shows that the export of the organs has violated the Human Organs and Tissues Transplantation Act, as well as the Law on Prevention of Conflict of Interests.

The check has also established a chaos in the documentations in the agency and a lack of archive of documents.
