The Head of the Referee Commission at the Bulgarian Football Union, Kostadin Kostadinov, has resigned, the Bulgarian daily "Dnevnik" reported Tuesday.

Kostadinov vowed to leave immediately after the end of the game between the Bulgarian teams CSKA and Litex Sunday over accusations on the part of the CSKA management of unfair and incompetent refereeing.

The resignation must, however, be approved by the Bulgarian Football Union.

Meanwhile, the referee in question, Stefan Spassov, would keep his post. Despite the CSKA claims, it had been Kostadinov who gave high marks for Spassov's performance.

CSKA insist the referee failed to give them two penalty kicks against Litex and had obviously sided with their adversary.
