The famed Bulgarian state budget surplus should have been used to invest in infrastructure, stated Prime Minister Boyko Borisov Saturday.

He was speaking at the opening of the road leading from the town of Banya nearby Karlovo to the Trakiya Highway.

"Looking at this road, which costed only EUR 15 M, I can only reflect how visible the impact of this small amount of money is," said Borisov.

"Can you imagine what the impact would have been if only a small fraction of the billions of budget surpluses that the former cabinet talked about were invested in roads!" exclaimed the Bulgarian PM.

Borisov stated that the most important "anti-crisis measure" of his cabinet is developing Bulgaria's infrastructure, which creates new jobs and opportunities for the furthering of other businesses.
