The leader of the Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP), Sergey Stanishev, declared Saturday his forecast for early general elections.

Stanishev, who was also Bulgaria's Prime Minister during the previous cabinet term, spoke during a celebration in the village of Krasava in western Bulgaria dedicated to the 120th anniversary of the founding of the local communist organization.

The socialist leader informed party followers and supporters, gathered for the event, that the approval rate of the ruling, center-right Citizens for European Development of Bulgaria party (GERB) is going down fast, the discontent among common Bulgarians is rising, and mass protests are brewing for the fall.

"If the cabinet's policy remains the same, and does not become more human and social, we are facing a political crisis and early elections in the spring of 2011," Stanishev said.

The former PM reported that next week the left-wing would continue talks with other parties, both in the Parliament and out of it, to submit a no-confidence vote against the GERB cabinet.
