Portuguese heavyweights Sporting and Porto, who are among the rivals of Bulgaria’s Levski and CSKA football clubs in Europa League, saw key changes in their line-up in the last days of the transfer window.

Sporting are cleaning house as the club made two separate deals, including Florent Sinama-Pongolle and Vladimir Stojkovic.

French striker Sinama-Pongolle has seen his days at Sporting come to an end as the former Liverpool player has failed to convince Paulo Sergio and will join La Liga club Real Zaragoza on loan.

Goalkeeper Vladimir Stojkovic will notch his third loan spell in three seasons as the Serbian net-minder will represent Partizan Belgrade this season.

Meanwhile Liverpool captured Portugese defensive midfielder Raul Meireles. The Reds have just completed the sale of Javier Mascherano and wasted little time to find his replacement.

Bulgarian top football team CSKA Sofia will meet former European champions Porto in the group stage of the Europa League, following the draw for the competition made on Friday.

Its main rival on the domestic front Levski will clash with Sporting Lisbon.

CSKA Sofia have been given tough draw and they are in Group L with Porto, Besiktas and Rapid Vienna, while Levski is joined in Group C by Sporting Lisbon, Lille and Gent.

The draw saw the 48 clubs divided into 12 groups of four teams, with the top two from each set progressing.
