The Varna Towers venture launched Tuesday the campaign for the official start-up of the new Varna Towers business center this fall.

German-owned power utility E.ON is the single biggest tenant of the center, having sealed a contract for more than 17,000 sq.m for its new administrative center for Bulgaria in the western and eastern of the newly-built towers. This amounts to over 70% of the complex’s area.

As part of the contract, E.ON will perform some of the finishing work on the buildings.

Varna Towers is the new business center of Varna, Bulgaria’s so-called “Black Sea capital” and the country’s (unofficially) second-biggest city.

Varna Towers owners are Martin Zgurev and Antonio Buhtiyarov. The complex is set to be Bulgaria’s biggest business and administrative center.

Its bid is to offer an unprecedented “synergy” among trade, entertainment and business. 45% of space is executed not as office space, but as urban areas, boasting lanes, atriums and fountains.

The buildings host class-A offices, a number of panoramic elevators and escalators and more than 800 parking spots.

The entertainment area is also said to be of unprecedented scale for Bulgaria, at a size of over 8000 sq.m.

Trade and service area is 60,000 sq.m, while office area is 23,000 sq.m. The venue is expected to bring to Varna brands that have not set in the city before.

Among the architectural highlights are the rotating Magnito Restaurant at the top of the eastern tower and the hanging business hall stretching between the two towers.

Ivestment in Varna Towers has been over EUR 50 M, by Varna Towers, owned by Densi-M, chaired by Martin Zgurev, and City Center, chaired by Antonio Buhtiyarov. 75% of the funds are a loan from Piraeus Bank Bulgaria.
