Singer George Michael has pleaded guilty to cannabis possession and driving under the influence of drugs.

The 47-year-old singer was arrested on July 4 after he crashed his car into a building in north London and was released on bail.

He appeared Tuesday in a London court, where he pleaded guilty on both charges.

The court decided to impose a 6-month ban on driving on the singer until the final ruling, which is scheduled for September 14.

The magistrates have also warned that all options for the ruling were possible, including imprisonment.

This is not the singer’s first drugs scandal. In 2007, he was sentenced to 100 hours of community service and was banned from driving for two years after he admitted he was driving under the influence of drugs.

In 2008, George Michael officially apologized to his fans after he was arrested for possession of drugs and promised to “sort himself out”.

The British singer achieved popularity in the 1980s, when he formed the pop duo Wham! and released the song "Careless whisper".
