Bulgarian Police Seize New Instalment of Antiques

Bulgarian police made a new seizure of old objects of value, recovering over 2000 such items near northern town of Shumen.

In an announcement made Monday, the Ministry of Interior stated that the police staged an operation in Novi Pazar nearby Shumen Saturday night.

Police stopped a vehicle for check upon which they discovered various objects with cultural and historical worth, including jewelry, icons, coins and other gold objects.

The six persons traveling in the car have been detained and are under investigation.

In July and August Bulgarian police staged a crack down on various antique trafficking organized groups.
