A light earthquake was registered in southern Bulgaria early Monday, the Seismological Center of the Geophysical Institute at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences reports.

The epicenter is in the Aegean Sea, on the border between Greece and Turkey, some 330 km east of the Bulgarian capital Sofia.

The 4-point magnitude on the Richter scale shock was felt around 7:22 am in the area of the southern city of Kardzhali and the town of Krumovgrad.

Bulgaria has seen increased seismologic activity lately, but there have been no reports of injuries or material damage, including the Monday tremor.
