Bulgaria Welcomes American Jewish Committee Delegation

An American Jewish Committee delegation headed by its Executive Director David Harris arrives in Bulgaria on Sunday, the organization of the Jews in Bulgaria Shalom announced.

The delegation arrives to take part in the Summer University of the European Union of Jewish Students, which takes place in Eastern Europe for the first time.

On Sunday evening David Harris was conferred the biggest award of the Bulgarian Jewish community “Shofar” for his contribution to the development of the relation between the organization of the Jews in Bulgaria Shalom and American Jewish Committee.

Bulgarian President Georgi Parvanov will award David Harris a Madara Rider order on August 24, Tuesday, for his contribution to the development of the Bulgarian-US ties.
