Bulgaria’s best swimmer Petar Stoychev won the Ohrid swimming marathon for the ninth time in his carrier.

Stoychev swam best the 30-km stretch at 5.37:39, leaving behind German Alexander Studinski (second) and Argentinian Damian Bloom.

The traditional competition is over a 30-km stretch in the Ohrid lake in south-western Macedonia and is hosted under the patronage of Macedonian President George Ivanov.

“I don’t like swimming in a group,” is how Stoychev explained his early pull forward and uncontested win.
