George Michael Charged with Drugs Possession, DUI

The British singer George Michael has been charged with cannabis possession and driving under the influence of drinks and drugs, ABC News has reported.

The 47-year-old singer will appear at the court on August 24.

The charges have been in connection to an incident, when George Michael crashed his car into a building in north London in July.

This is not the singer’s first drugs scandal. In 2007, he was sentenced to 100 hours of community service and was banned from driving for two years after he admitted he was driving under the influence of drugs.

In 2008, George Michael officially apologized to his fans after he was arrested for possession of drugs and promised to “sort himself out”.

The British singer achieved popularity in the 1980s, when he formed the pop duo Wham! and released the song "Careless whisper".
