The first Bulgarian “newscopter” made its first takeoff on Wednesday morning, which was broadcast by several national media.

The newscopter named DarikSky is owned by the private Darik Radio, and is equipped with three TV cameras allowing it to make 360-degree shots from the air, and to show them inside the pit.

The special guest of the first flight of the DarikSky newscopter was the Mayor of Varna, Kiril Yordanov, who took the viewers around the city and port of Varna explaining to them some of his administration’s plan for its development.

The first emission of the newscopter was broadcast live on the Darik Radio and the Bulgarian National Television.

The 1200-cc BMW newscopter is the only one in Eastern Europe. The intended purchase of two newscopters was announced by the management of Darik Radio back in 2008 and confirmed in 2009.
