50 Kg of Heroin Busted at Bulgarian-Serbian Border

Serbian Customs agents have seized over 50 kilos of heroin at the Gradina border cross point with Bulgaria.

The information was reported Monday by the Bulgarian National Radio, BNR.

The narcotic substance has been found in a special compartment inside the car seat of an automobile driven by a Dutch citizen from Turkish descent. Another person, also a Turk with a Dutch passport had been accompanying the driver.

The market price of the busted 50 to 60 kg of heroin is estimated at USD 3.5 M.

Serbia and Bulgaria are on the so-called “drug route” from Asia to Western Europe.
