The Bulgarian Ministry of Transport, Information Technology and Communications has demanded a ban on the illegal tourist flights above the beaches of the Black Sea coast.

“The tourist flights, conducted with light aircraft above the beaches, are dangerous and unregulated. All of them are conducted without permission from the Directorate General “Civil Aviation Administration” and the Bulgarian Air Traffic Services Authority. This is a violation, which puts in danger the lives and health of the citizens and the guests of our country,” the Transport Ministry announced Friday.

At its first meeting, the Advisory Committee on Civil Aviation has decided to seek co-operation by the police for the termination of the tourist flights above the beaches at the Bulgarian Black Sea coast.

Kamen Kichev, Deputy Minister of Transport, has headed the first meeting of the committee. The participants, including representatives of associations for civil aviation, trade unions and the Sofia Airport, have also discussed other problems in light aviation and have marked the steps for their resolutions.

The Advisory Committee was created after an order by the Minister of Transport, Alexander Tsvetskov from July 26. The purpose of the committee is to co-operate with Tsvetkov for the implementation of state policies on civil aviation through preparation of independent analysis, draft legislation and proposals in the field of aviation.
