The famous supermodel Naomi Campbell has admitted she received “dirty-looking stones” as a gift from the former Liberian President Charles Taylor.

The UK Daily Telegraph has reported that Campbell gave her testimony at the International Criminal Court in The Hague, the Netherlands, on the trial against Taylor, who is charged with 11 war crimes and crimes against humanity.

The Prosecution's Office has stated that the supermodel has refused to talk to them, so they had to issue an order to force her to testify.

On Thursday, Campbell told the court that she talked to Taylor at a charity dinner, hosted by Nelson Mandela in South Africa in 1997. In her words, late that night, two men knocked at her door and gave her a pouch, saying it was a gift for her.

“When they gave me the pouch, I just put it close to my bed and went back to bed. I opened the pouch the next morning when I woke up. I saw a few stones. They were very small, dirty-looking stones,” Campbell said, as cited by The Daily Telegraph.

The 62-year-old Taylor is accused of trading in “blood diamonds” to fund a brutal and bloody war, carried out by rebels in Liberia's neighboring Sierra Leone.
