Twelve individuals have been arrested in the capital Sofia Sunday evening for hooliganism, and disorderly conduct, after heavy alcohol binging, the Bulgarian Interior Ministry announced.

All detainees are fans of Bulgaria’s two top football clubs – CSKA and Levski. Another 8 have been arrested before the game which gave the start of the first round of the Bulgarian National Football Championship Sunday night.

The police further say they did not encounter major problems and incidents such as vandalism – a common occurrence after Levski – CSKA face offs.

Levski managed to snatch away a minimal 1:0 win against arch-rivals CSKA Sunday night.
