Rompetrol Bulgaria Boss Arrested in Brawl with Parliament Head Security - Report

One of the two Romanians arrested Saturday for assaulting the security guards of the Bulgarian Parliament Speaker is the CEO of Rompetrol Bulgaria, according to information from the Bulgarian National Radio.

Rompetrol Bulgaria is the Bulgarian subsidiary of Romanian oil giant Rompetrol, which has a considerable market share in Bulgaria.

The National Radio quotes the names of the two individuals arrested as "Panzaru Ionit" and "Nikita Octavianu", saying that the first person is "the director" of Rompetrol Bulgaria. The same information is given by Darik Radio, which quotes the Regional Directorate of the Ministry of Interior at Veliko Tarnovo.

According information from Rompetrol Bulgaria's website, the name of the company's CEO is Sorin Octavian Nichita.

The two Romanian citizens were arrested in Arbanassi near Veliko Tarnovo after midnight Friday, when they entered in a brawl with the security guards of Speaker of Bulgarian Parliament Tsetska Tsacheva.

The two individuals attempted to enter the Winepalace restaurant, which was reserved for Tsacheva and organizers and official guests of the Stage of the Ages festival held in Veliko Tarnovo over this and next weekend.

After being denied admission to the restaurant, the two Romanians assaulted the security guards of the Parliament Speaker and police officers present, on which the security officers called reinforcements.

They were arrested and charged with causing mayhem and failing to obey a police order.
