Bulgaria and Romania are undertaking all necessary measures to bring back the Roma, who have violated French laws, Bulgarian Interior Minister, Tsvetan Tsvetanov informs.

Tsvetanov spoke Thursday, in the aftermath of media reports about French Interior Minister, Brice Hortefeux, declaring Roma camps in the country would be demolished and all Roma involved in illegal activities would be immediately deported to Bulgaria and Romania.

“We have received the information and we are acting together with our Romanian colleagues to bring back those who have violated the law. We are currently working on specifying how many of them are Bulgarian and how many are Romanian citizens,” the Minister pointed out, adding the exact number of those detained is not yet known, but not all of them are from Bulgaria or Romania.

The Romanian Embassy in Sofia confirmed they have been notified about the issue and are undertaking measures.
