There is no intelligence information for an assassination plot targeting Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borisov, according to the head of the National Protection Service, Dimitar Dimitrov.

Dimitrov has denied the media reports that the alleged assassins captured Friday in the special operation codenamed “Killers” also had an order to carry out the killing of the PM, as cited by the Bulgarian National Radio.

“I cannot comment on anything specific, our information is that for the time being there is no such plot,” said the dead of the National Protection Service, which guards the top Bulgarian officials.

“Our job is to prevent any kinds of attempts against the state leaders. There are regular threat reports. The security of the Prime Minister is precisely what it should be. We do not have any information about a plot in this specific case but we constantly receive such intelligence,” explained Dimitrov.

He revealed that his service was currently guarding ten top officials. He refused to reveal how many reports his institution has received about assassination plots against the Prime Minister.
